Itinerary

DAY 01: MOLLEPATA - SORAYPAMPA.

Salkantay Trek 05 Days. We will pick you up from your hotel. DAY 02: SALKANTAY MOUNTAIN - CHAULLAY

We woke up very early as it was the most difficult day of this trip will have our breakfast at 5.30 am and start our hike at 06.00. DAY 03: CHAULLAY - CLOUD FOREST - LUCMABAMBA

After breakfast, at 6:30 a.m., we will begin our hike. Along the way, we will observe the dense vegetation typical of the rainforest and follow the course of the Santa Teresa River, accompanied by numerous tributaries, such as the Lluskamayo River, as well as various streams. In addition, we will cross a valley surrounded by tropical fruits and native plants. Finally, we will arrive at our campsite in Lucmabamba (2,000 m / 6,562 ft), where we will enjoy a delicious lunch and the warm climate. Afterward, following a short rest, we will continue to the Cocalmayo hot springs (optional), where we can relax and enjoy a wonderful experience. Later, we will return to camp for the night.

DAY 04: LLACTAPATA - AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

We'll have breakfast at 5:00 a.m. Afterward, we'll begin our hike, gradually ascending the mountain to reach the Llactapata archaeological complex. From there, we'll enjoy our first views of the Inca city of Machu Picchu. Then, we'll descend to the Aobamba River and continue to the hydroelectric plant, where we'll have lunch. Later, we'll continue our trek upstream along the Vilcanota River, following a scenic trail. Along the way, we'll enjoy the local flora and fauna. Finally, we'll reach the town of Aguas Calientes, where we'll spend the night in a hostel.

DAY 05: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

We will have breakfast at the hotel and then go to the bus station and board the first bus in the direction of the city, approximately 25 minutes by a zigzag path to reach the Inca citadel Machu Picchu.

The guide will offer a visit (about 2 hours) and after that, you have free time to explore the city if you still have energy, you can also climb Huayna Picchu mountain (2720m). It takes 45 minutes to reach the top. To return to Aguas Calientes have 2 options, walking or bus (optional) where you will meet your guide back for lunch and receive his train ticket to return to the city of Cusco.after this Salkantay Trek 5 days.

The train service includes all the tours (the Expedition to Ollanta) and the bus to Cusco. * If you want to stay an extra night in Aguas Calientes you have to tell us in advance to arrange your hotel and change the return train service.
